Shenandoah 02:37
I drink from your waters Like I drink corn liquor and hops When the barley wine is tempting me You fade from my thoughts Pull me from the bottom Hold me from despair Your a loving caring mother I’m so lucky for the care Shenandoah sing to me Shenandoah heal me Through the winding of your valleys And the whistling of your wind I ride your gentle overture and slide to the end Your mountaintops are bounty Your leaves a golden chest I long for you to gather me Hold me to your breast Shenandoah sing to me Shenandoah heal me Your seasons are my story They have helped me through the years When the leaves have all fallen I am left with my fears Your blue hills tell my story My seasons have all passed My future is calling If only I can last Shenandoah sing to me Shenandoah heal me Shenandoah sing to me Shenandoah rescue me

Looking up around at the whole world Maybe things will be the way they should I can feel your voice and your touch on my neck Never thought we'd say goodbye From the beach to the boat to the buoy I loved every minute that the time would give From the porch to the peace to the pool We lived every minute that we could Now I'm saturated in sunshine But the blues is keeping me back Now I'm saturated in sunshine And I just need you back again with me Never thought we'd say goodbye All the things that you wanted were here But I was trapped and we were trapped alone in paradise There was nothing that you could say From the beach to the boat to the buoy I just wanted you by my side From the peace to the porch to the pool I couldn't even say we didn't try Now I'm saturated in sunshine But the blues is keeping me back Now I'm saturated in sunshine And I just need you back again with me I want you back, I want you back But you can never come back, no I want you back, I want you back But you can never come back And like the waves on the beach we keep turning Turning over and over again Now I'm saturated in sunshine But the blues is keeping me back Now I'm saturated in sunshine And I just need you back, again with me Again with me (Back, back, back, back) Again with me (Back, back, back, back) Again with me (Back, back, back, back) Again with me

I’m up here in the tree tops Watching the mist flow through the air I’m up here in the tree tops Where the vision is not clear But the curly twined branches The lines of reaching chances are here If they can reach for sunshine Maybe I can reach out too If the clouds are just a screen to hide Maybe I can find the view Through the curly twined branches The lines of reaching chances Will help me through They say there’s beauty in the unknown Hidden behind the veil Maybe if I look long enough I can see that little bird sail Through the curly twined branches The lines of reaching chances And the path of an old trail I’m up here in the tree tops Watching the mist flow through the air I’m up here in the tree tops Where the vision is not clear But the curly twined branches The lines of reaching chances are here The curly twined branches The lines of reaching chances are here

I know a girl by her eyes She smiles outward all the time Showed me a summer day And all troubles went away Roll away the day now I say roll away the day Roll away the day now I say roll away the day Roll away the day now I say roll away the day Water run down her back Embrace her with all I have Dancing around the room Our laughter we both consume Roll away the day now I say roll away the day Roll away the day now I say roll away the day Roll away the day now I say roll away the day Oh roll away the day now Roll away the day Lost in my memory I faintly remember thee Soft touch and open gaze Oh how did I love your ways Roll away the day now I say roll away the day Roll away the day now I say roll away the day Roll away the day now I say roll away the day Oh roll away the day now Roll away the day Roll away the day now I say roll away the day

Take a rock Take a swing Skip it right across the stream A swim, I’m in I love the water on my skin Let’s paddle out to the island Where the flowers grow At peace, at rest, we’ll know That summer, those days We really had the run of the place In laughter and smiles We could walk that shore for miles But looking back on the memories We were making them so fast I can’t recall a moment that lasts Saved for but sold Changing winds I’m told I wanted a fire But I’m left with a coal Save for but sold So old and cold Is there warmth and fire below A girl, a friend You know the kind you keep to the end But she paddled out to the island And I finally decided no In times things change I’m told Saved for but sold Changing winds I was told I wanted a fire But I’m left with a single coal Saved for but sold
